I love that this is the dramatic version. So many critics put it down because of their comparison to the sitcom. That was a sitcom and this is a DRAMA. I'm glad that our story is being told showing we are not a monolith and we don't have to make others feel "comfortable" in our struggles. We can tell our story without the buffoonery that Hollywood expects from the "Black experience."
The cinematography is BEAUTIFUL, the chemistry and acting are exceptional. The relationship between Carlton & Will is so much more "real" than the sitcom displayed (because we had to make the audience LAUGH). In real life, cousins would not be as accepting as they were in the Fresh Prince. Thanks for showing us the dramatic peril that a son goes through when he's different from his father's expectations and another boy comes in fulfilling them. WOW!
I pray this show gets the support needed to continue into more seasons.
