The biggest issue with Little Hope AND Man of Medan stems from the concept of the Curator. These games shouldn’t be stories that aren’t really supernatural in the end. Until Dawn was so good because it was a horror game. It had real supernatural events. It wasn’t some weird mysterious story being told to us by some obscure narrator. I don’t want all the horror events to be due to some hallucinatory chemical (Man of Medan) and I definitely don’t want to be told that all the events occurred in some schizophrenic’s imagination(Little Hope). Little Hope is a horror game without any real horror. The jump scares are lame and repetitive. The atmosphere doesn’t engage you and make you feel nervous. And the actual story of the game is just that, a story. None of it is real and that takes away from the horror of the game in my opinion.
