Today's social issues where displayed just how people of color are judged, always ready to accuse African Americans of a crime without knowing the details. I was not shocked when Alix used Emira grocery store event to promote her career. For decades on the backs of blacks, non blacks have benifited. I was outrageous to know that Alix stooped so low to ruin Kelly's relationship with Amira based on what happened to her in high school. Easy read and excellent debut novel.
