*Spoilers*This was an absolute disaster, the cinematography was so boring and bland. Just shot reverse shot with no interesting angles, the heavy metal or orchestra revamp of the classic soundtrack was terrible and took away from the scenes, the dialogue was so dramatic with people screaming "evil dies tonight" and going on a manhunt for Micheal, Micheal who behaved weirdly stringing up the bodies, there is an unnecessary amount of humor attempts making the movie tonally all over the place they dolly zoom in every scene, they follow every horror cliche with a million jumpscares and they establish a gay couple and a black couple just to kill them off first like it's a 70s movie , they then go back and re write events from the first movie retroactively ruining the first masterpeice the gore is mixed sometimes its good other times it looks like dollar store props there is an unnecessary subplot with a random inmate from the mental institution Micheal escaped from the characters just act like Micheal is easy to kill and take zero precaution where everyone in the town tries to kill the first inmate they see thinking its Micheal with no reason to think that they then proceed to try to kill him even though the cops were saying it wasnt Micheal and he jumps off the roof of the hospital and dies and the line "now hes turning us into monsters" is said after the inmates death they continue to override the first movie and the previous installment in the new franchise Laurie acts completely insane and puts her children in danger for her crusade agaisnt Micheal, the acting over all was terrible for a movie this recent the movie ends which Micheal literally trying to fight the entire town's worth of people who are all armed like the end of Halloween 4 and they absolutely mutilate him shoot him over 12 times and beat him more times that I could count and he still is fine until Karen poetically takes his own knife and stabs him with it while Laurie narrates with slow piano music about how Micheal is an evil entity Micheal gets up and proceeds to kill everyone somehow including all the main characters from Halloween 1 excluding laurie Katen is killed at the last moment of the movie with Laurie realizing it somehow as the credits roll setting up for the 5 sequels they have planned this was a complete waste of my time and money and I wouldnt recommend it to my worst enemy if you like any of the old Halloween movies or have any love for Micheal Myers stay away from this pile of trash
