I just came back from watching in theaters and the film treats the lore in this franchise with the same amount of respect as the source material Blumhouse is adapting. when I was walking out of the theaters everyone was cheering and talking about how much they loved the movie. the critics who reviewed this movie should maybe play the games and dig deep into the lore of this series to get an idea of what this film is catering too. becuase it is not catering to the critics, its catering to the fanbase like it is suppose to. this films isn't perfect, but to me its a 7.5-8/10 for me. this is coming from someone who played a few of the games(not to completion) but i understood the lore a little bit, i know who the film is catering to one hell of a loyal fanbase. but i can't stop singing it's praises despite having limited knowledge of the games.
