The photography (particularly of the South of France) was absolutely beautiful and the costumes stunning as always. I have to say that I really enjoyed the film despite its disjointed and rushed nature. As a big Downton fan it was great to see all the characters come to life again. I’m so glad this movie was made. It’s like seeing old friends again. There were definite faults in this movie but they were more than overcome by the escapism of the beautiful French scenery and the wonderful clothes. And it was wonderful to see everyone again even if the plots seemed a bit crazy and unrealistic at times. I would recommend this for Downton fans but don’t expect too much and you’ll enjoy it all the more.
