This is a great book and very informative - not only about the events at Parihaka but also about the political landscape at the time and how the colonial government dealt with the local people.
The multitude of place names mentioned in the book and references to people and iwi can be distracting though essential for completeness.
However, the information in the book is well structured which makes it quite easy to read.
I highly recommend the book to anyone that wants to learn about New Zealand history from around the time of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi to the late 19th century.
