When Vikings first aired I was hook and could not wait until the next scheduled program. I enjoyed everything presented on the show. My interest in the show declined when the producers ended Ragnar Lothbrok death. What I found disappointing was the way they ended his death. Ragnar was portrayed both as a understanding but fierce warrior.... To all that would agree, Ragnar was admired by Vikings....Earls...& Kings throughout all Norway. With that much respect...Why would the producers end his life by surrendering it to a king to end it as he choose. That is not the Viking's way to enter into Valhalla. From the beginning of life for all Vikings they call on...prayed to their GODs....Odin, Thor, Frigg, Tyr, (Loki, Baldur, Heimdall, Idun, and Bragi) To Witness: Their strength and courage in every battle fought, the number of men killed by their sword and axes....hoping that it pleases them (Odin)... granting them a place in Valhalla. Maybe the producers was growing tired of filming and could not wait to call it a day. I wish they would have ended his character into what he wanted most for his family and people and that was to farm. The way they ended Lagertha life. I was disappointed the way they ended Flokki's death. Flokki's death made no sense to me. Rollo's life I too felt was poorly casted. The way they ended Rollo's life of a Vikings to someone important as a french leader. My disappointment continue to grow. When Lagertha was save by an old women after the battle with the young king. Later she was welcome into the king's home as a guest. It doesn't seem logical for the king to welcome her in his home when she tried (Lagertha) to kill him and his family.
That too seems delusional. There is more in the way the producers are bring The Vikings too an end ( History Channel) that makes no sense. I thought like so many other that the last episode of Vikings was going to be something most remembering. Very Disappointing
My Next Review dated 01/15/2020 04:30am
I am very disappointed that the producers (Michael Hirst) of Vikings would rather pocket a dime instead of spending it on ending the show that would create a world wide demand to get the History Channel to fund more for another season. This is my second review concerning what I thought was the producers seems if they had no more desire to make the next episode better than the next. The scene they shot for Lagertha was poorly thoughout. Everyone knows that there was a wall builded around kattegat with guards posted. I do not thinks they would have allow Lagertha to past through on her own seeing her weak, maybe still bleeding from her injury. No they would not. They would have escorted her in for help. So why did the producer shot the scene with her riding all the way from her village to kattegat to see her son Bjorn before she die....The sence showed her inside kattegat...Not arriving at the main gate to get inside Kattegat...but already inside slouch over her horse....too weak to lift her head....to make it to the main halls - building but end up at the knife...killed by Ragnar son Hvitserk. I really do not know why Ivar wife was brought back into the show but seems how poorly the last episodes been cast I bet I can predict why.
Ivar will eventually tell her of the comparisons of her and his wife.....she will then fall in love with Ivar....Ivar will then become king and claim a revenge war against his brother in Kattegat. That is the way Ivar will end....Ivar-The Boneless-....in Vikings..... E. Murray
