Actual rating: 3.5 stars This was a solid sci-fi thriller. I thought the premise was interesting and there was a good amount of suspense throughout the movie. The writers chose to be thoughtful about the complexity of the situation. It could have easily become a stereotypical USA vs. Russia story, but thankfully it was more nuanced than that. Not a new favorite, but worth a watch.

Past Lives was such a deeply moving and beautiful story. I can't remember the last time a movie made me feel so much. It's truly worthy of all the praise and worth watching.

Robert Pattison is a great actor, but even he couldn’t save this movie. I don't remember the last time I've encountered such bad storytelling. There were so many scenes that added NOTHING to the plot or character development. I prefer substance over shock value in my sci-fi movies.

This was a solid low budget sci-fi movie. I thought it was highly entertaining and had good moments of suspense. If found footage movies aren't your thing, I would skip this one.
