Such a great movie! One of my favorites! The jumpscares actually got me because I wasn’t expecting them. I love how the action happened right at the beginning of the movie instead of there being a slow steady buildup to the climax. Also, everything that happened in the movie actually MADE SENSE. Everything that happens at the beginning of the movie is very important for later on, and even Evelyn, the librarian lady, who I thought was just going to be an unimportant side character, came through and was a very important role later. The movie connected all the mystery and connected the ties amazingly. Like when we find out the daughter that was said to be killed at the beginning of the movie turned out to be Evelyn’s. Or how the marking in blood beside that Higgins girl was the marking of the cult she was in. I loved how the beginning scene was the one that played in The Conjuring. And I was very thrilled when at the end, the movie mentions Ed and Lorraine Warren, the paranormal investigators in The Conjuring series, and even shows the glass case they had her in. Easily among my favorite horror movies!

I’m watching it right now as I type. I’m 15 and was born in 2007, but I’ve always loved older movies and songs because they make me feel content and like I forgot about the rest of the world. A lot of my favorite movies come from the 60s and even some from the 40s. My parents like to say I have an old soul. This show is really great and has become one I watch when I have downtime. Good show! Good acting, good old-times feel, lovable characters, and a boatload of fun!
