This was possibly the worst movie on the Star Wars IP. If the intent was to “set up” for subverted expectations in the 9th film, it shouldn’t have tried to subvert The expectations on literally every scene of the movie. The number of rug-pulls is unsettling and causes you to be over prepared for the latter 75% of the twists they tried to pull. Moreover, the fights are uninspired, poorly choreographed, and had 2 underwhelming conclusions back to back. Mark has even gone on record saying the character he played is distinctly NOT Luke Skywalker. The backlash from true fans was so bad that one statement literally accused the YouTube channel “Game Theory” for hyping what the movie could have been too much, leading to the disappointment.
