Glitzy and lavish the Great Gatsby takes you to the roaring twenties. It is a quintessential American story of self-made rise. One feels for Jay Gatsby. Could Jay and Daisy have been together?! Yes if Gatsby had agreed to run away. But he couldn't because he is averse to anything not proper. A conflicted Daisy finally clings on to her husband, though one must say one is not so sure whether she still loved Jay when she left with her family for a vacation in the end. Jay Gatsby did not deserve death. Or did he?! May be he did because he did not seize his moment- the moment Daisy was willing to run away with him. Jay wanted Daisy's love. The problem was that he also wanted a respectable social life which is never possible if you want to reunite with your love already married.
