I really wanted to like this. I’ve read all the books but I feel like this was a rushed project. The effort to blend two different stories just didn’t work in this series. And the carelessness of simple, not-so-super relevant details (the series opened with Alina’s “fear” of the dark-when it was actually Mal that was afraid) shows that the story they wanted to tell is more important than the stories we actually love. I was 1 1/2 episodes in and am done. These stories are much better in my head.
