So this is a lovely story, all about how story grounds us and helps us to face the world and helps us to find ourselves. I just adored it! But here is my question: why is it necessary, in the middle of a beautiful, whimsical, emotional story, to drop the F word and toss in heaps of references to s3x and one openish door scene? That was what made me think about giving this one fewer stars. Those things did not move the story forward at all. 🤷 I might be a bit too goody goody here, I know, but I honestly think that these things hurt the story! Inclusion of words and topics that keep me from passing a book on to my mom or daughters really annoy me! Anyone else?
