I am not going to say that I dislike the movie. It's a fine film. My complaint is the same complaint I have for every Nolan film. He's a slave to form over function. Oppenheimer and the development of the atomic bomb is a compelling story without all of the disorientation of the timeline. He jumps around the timeline so much it distracts from the narrative. I think it's impossible for Nolan to tell a linear story. And the movie was easily 30 minutes longer than it needed to be.
The acting is tremendous. The set design is tremendous. And Nolan can frame a shot like no one else can. But man oh man is the narrative difficult to follow because of the time jumps.
