I really don’t understand the excessive hate in the reviews here. So far, with 6 hours of gameplay, I’m really enjoying the game. It is truly a “souls-lite” game, meaning it uses souls-like mechanics (respawning of enemies after death, needing to reclaim experiences), and even regular enemies can kill you if you’re not focused. However, it’s a much less stressful experience compared to hardcore souls games.
What I really like is the verticality of the game, along with the forgiving double jump and dash. Another great feature is opening the rifts, which helps you navigate the map quickly, especially useful for getting back to the place of death.
The game is visually appealing, especially with its beautifully crafted vistas. The story is just okay, but I enjoy the steampunk vibe and overall setting. It reminds me of The Divine Cities trilogy by Robert Jackson Bennett.
