Turning red strikes conversations between families about topics that aren’t normally depicted in media (ex. Menstruation, puberty, difficult emotions) but also that’s what every Disney movie does! If many Pixar/ Disney movies can depict deaths and violence and darker themes then turning red discussing things like pads so openly is appropriate and even encouraging!! It’s so diverse and interesting and gives such a point of view many have never even thought of before! I highly recommend for kids 6+ because it’s entertaining and colorful but also has more advanced themes! This is a wonderful coming of age movie with such beautiful animation and a fun-mostly-light hearted story line. I think this movie is a beginning into a more progressive and fun future for Disney Pixar and I highly recommend it!!!
