Before going into the game I'd recommend people to be open minded about it. Despite what you hear, it's an honest and tragic tale of love, loss, and trauma. The game puts Joel and Ellie in an outside perspective and forces us to question the world, characters, and their morality.
It's a direct mirror of the first game.
Joel lost everything and then found something.
Ellie had something and then lost everything.
It questions on what if Joel's first impression was his violent act in the first game, without his perspective. The Last of Us Part 1 was beautiful and hopeful. Part 2 is ugly and horrifying, and takes you for a wild ride alongside Ellie
