I was really excited to watch the movie since I'm Pakistani, and a dedicated fan of Sajal,Emma and Lily but honestly the movie was disappointing. I was hoping that Kaz and Maymouna would end up together and that Zoe would finally find her own meaning of life on her own. I was really looking forward to Zoe's independent character development, but the ending was too cliche. Although the movie does touch on controversial topics ,but as a muslim teenager, I can confirm that although not majority, but some muslims are like that, but it's not because of the parents, it's sometimes the social environment around you. That was what I wanted to see in the movie, although Kaz's ideals were shown to be better than Maymouna's, I wanted to see every character have their own character developement. After the movie it just felt like that it ended up going back to where it all started.
