I’m assuming this is a wonderful and accurate story of Collin’s experience. Given that presumption, I wonder why they portray his white parents a stereotypical whites who can’t cook and can’t understand or relate to another experience outside of their own? In my opinion, this only affirms any gaps that we all know exist and prevents any attempt by others to try and bridge that gap because they always are presumed unable and wanting to learn.
