Visually it was great, like all Wes Anderson films, but something seemed to be missing, perhaps it was cohesion. There was quite a bit of jumping back and forth between charactors and narration, and despite the audience being told we were going to see Act 1 or 2 or 3, the pacing seemed more like a European format, or perhaps a Salvadore Dali painting with dialogue. The best I can say is I liked it more than Bottle Rockets but not nearly as much as Moonlight Kingdom, and hopefully that helps.
