I will state that I was a huge fan of Rocksteady's take on the Batman series with the Arkham games. They were incredible, and I was excited for this to come out.
Then I found out that the majority of people and talented individuals who made those games have left the company over political reasons, and then I got worried but still gave the game a shot.
But Suicide Squad sadly is not a good game to the point its already on sale, and not even then would I recommend it. The missions are repetitive and contain a ton of escort missions, the level up system is broke as some missions have criteria that force you to play with specific items or moves, removing player choice. I had a high amount of bugs also, and couldn't connect to servers. The character writing/dialog is very bad and they speak non stop. The humor in this game seems to be inspired by the accuracy by volume school of thought. The enemy's are also bullet sponges and have no actual variety or tactics to them, and the bosses are braindead and only have about 2 moves and all get beat in the same way. Oh and do you like using weak guns in your super hero game? Because they are essential for all the playable characters.
On a more personal critique, and here is some spoilers so stop here if you still want to play it: How they handled the characters of the Justice League was totally unacceptable. Would Superman take ANY damage from guns? Do you think Batman (the same Batman from the Arkham games because this is the same universe where those games took place) would just sit down on a bench and get executed without putting up a fight, also with a gun? Would the Green Lanterns ring work if anyone just put it on?
Then looking into it more, a company called Sweet Baby Games was involved and they seem to be designed to push political messages subvertly into games. Which may be why Wonder Woman was the only Superhero that had a good death that was treated with respect while the males were pissed on, one was literally.
I am sick of companies spending resources on political propaganda that should have been spent on making the game better and writers that do not understand the lore of the franchise they are writing for. What happened to the focus of making a good product first? And now Sweet Baby Games is a red flag for any game they were involved in, because looking at their catalog of games they worked it it seems to be a running theme for them.
