This game gets 5 stars from me, the one star reviews your seeing are people used to playing COD or family oriented cookie cutter nintendo titles lol when I first played dark souls it was when I was about 21 and I was infuriated by how many times I died and how the game didn't hold my hand so I gave up (literally couldn't get past the first hour or so). Then a few years later I played bloodbourne (another title from the same developers) and then went onto dark souls 3 and I loved it, it is what got me to then replay dark souls and dark souls 2. Yes the game is tough and you will die alot but that's the point! You learn from your mistakes and you get better and better after every loss, and when you finally beat that big bad boss you were up against my god its a fantastic feeling, its litterally why I play any games on the hardest difficulty setting now because it just makes you want the challenge, don't deny yourself this experience because some people have zero patience and are used to easy story driven games, I promise you won't regret it 😉
