The game deserves more than the criticism it gets because it gives fans a more serious story and an actual threatening foe in the form of Dr. Eggman and his new partner, Infinite. While I wish it did add more to the customization of your character and made longer levels, the game is a fresh take on Sonic after nothing but "harmless antics" between Sonic and his arch nemesis (Colors and Lost World don't take Eggman as serious as Forces does). Plus, if you read the IDW comics, they pick up right when Forces ends so it's a nice continuity for the comic.

Definitely made me waiting to get a PS5 worth it. It has plenty of laughs, heart, interesting locations because of Rivet's dimension and epic battles. My only gripe is not being able to switch between Ratchet/Rivet because planets are divided between them.
