As everyone else is saying, it was too long by about an hour. I did not buy that Mollie and Ernest really loved each other. I felt it was very disrespectful to the Osage the way the movie abruptly ended with the loud, obnoxious radio announcers quickly spouting out the rest of the story. After sitting in the theater for so long waiting to see how it ended, that was very frustrating!
I do however, disagree with reviewers who said DiCaprio and De Niro didn’t play their parts well. They were psychopaths who used psychological manipulation to be wolves in sheep’s clothing. My favorite scene of the movie was Mollie asking Ernest, “What was in it?”. Walking away tells us she figured him out and wasn’t going to stand for it. I was wondering at the end why she married another white man after all he did to her though, but after reading the true story, it would seem she had to if she wanted to spend her money and have access to her diabetes medicine. So sad.
