The ending of the anime is complete trash. Since the main characters just wanted to have a quiet life, but in the end they die in the most ridiculous way possible.
In addition to this, the story suggests that the protagonists are in love, but in the last chapters they change the direction of the anime.
It's a shame, it could have been a good story.
Another thing, please don't compare it to anime like #CodeGeass when you haven't even seen the end of both anime. There is no comparison.
