Gritty nut realistic take on the war. The lulls, the comraterie, the death, and the apathy that comes with combat. It's a beautifully tragic film that retells one of the world's greatest mistakes.

I expected this movie to be full of propaganda and woke liberalism. It wasn't. It's center is the characters. Actually well fleshed out characters. You feel their trials. As a lover of history I know of many nations who used women warriors and the terror they could cause based on historical accounts as well as the humiliation to the typical man for being killed by a woman. It was about a people fighting for a world they wanted to create and being willing to die for the change. All the actors played their roles brilliantly. Really good film. Only gripe I had was with "the white man has bought slavery to africa" which obviously if you know history then you know slavery has existed almost as long as the "civilized world" and on all parts of the world.
