As I watched this film it was a rollercoaster of emotions. The way this story was told was unique. Personally I cried alot. It is hard to put it into words. I guess you could say that I am speechless. War does alot to the people who are fighting on both sides. It slowly strips away their humanity and empathy. But some cling to it for dear live because that is all what they have left. This movie not only showed the side of the Japanese Soldiers who fought in the battle of Iwo Jima but it also showed their humanity and their struggles. In the end most of them had the same desire as any soldier had it did not matter if they were Japanese or American. They only wanted to go back home.
