Troika S

The first episode left me concerned they'd fall into the overly-edgy hot topic nonsense that's so easy to do with this character. While there is definitely a through line of that, the rest of this season actually straddles that line without crossing it. It's very funny, irreverent and even occasionally a bit heartfelt. While I hope we get a more serious take on the character someday, I definitely enjoyed this itteration.

Wonderful production value, some very creative creature design and effects and a great cast. It's primary problem thus far has been pacing; Several episodes will feature multiple-story plots that should have been their own A plots in their own episodes. Season one especially felt like it tried to condense 23 episodes worth of Buffy-esque story-of-the-week narratives into less than half that number. Still it's a show worth checking out.
