OK, so the fact that I’m even giving this two stars is because Joshua Jackson is still hot. I’m literally only watching at this point to see his face. Other than that, I am super disappointed in how surface level the series has turned out to be. I was really hoping for some deeper storylines that carry on through the series and keep us itching for the next episode. I hate that each episode is literally resolved so quickly by the end. I really thought the captain was going to turn out to be a bad guy purposely harming the passengers in some way or another on the ship and maybe get stuck at sea and blah blah blah. Idk. I was just expecting more drama. I definitely wasn’t expecting it to go woke with the whole Ken doll thing. It just seemed like a very in the moment woke or broke type storyline to have in an attempt to stay relevant and pull in younger viewers. I just think the whole storyline was off and didn’t make any sense. Each little episode that a patient has is resolved before you can even really enjoy what’s going on. It throws me off because they have so many different little storylines of people in one episode that it feels like your brain is combusting from overload, not in a good way. Thing with any good long, running show like ER, House, Grey’s Anatomy is that there were always full season storylines within the weekly story. Like by the end of the season, you were wondering if someone was going to die from a disease they have teased you about since episode one or if the girl and guy were finally going to get together. Things on this episode or so phase level, I can’t imagine they will be any anticipation for following episodes. I just really think the storyline needs to be completely redone for it to be more interesting and there needs to be a bad guy! There’s no story arc! I guess I could’ve just said that to begin with. Each episode doesn’t really have a climax. And when each episode is over, I’m not looking forward to the next episode to see where things go. Because it just ends so abruptly. I’m just really disappointed. It had the potential to be so freaking awesome.
