I started really enjoying the episodes but rapidly got annoyed with the unrealistic plots. It's true more women are murdered by those known to them but completely false that the majority of murderers are women. It really grated on me. I wouldn't recommend the series for this reason.

This is a very moving portrayal of life in a new homeland . I loved the strong place of female characters in the storyline. Everything seemed so natural and realistic.

I really disliked this show. It reminded me of Tarzan movies I watched in the 1960's where the remote jungle was a quick 5 minute sprint from the big town. Marianne Station is supposed to be the size of Belgium but everything is a quick 4WD drive away. I felt the sadomasochistic relationship between the father and son was gratuitous. The depiction of the Walpiri Elders was shallow and reinforced negative stereotypes. The scenery is spectacular but nature is to thank for that.

Its not an easy movie to watch but so worthwhile.
