This is a classic book on all things brick oven. Alan Scott lays out the construction guidelines and reasons why they were done that way, and leads you through building your own oven.
The hanging slab is now a relic and generally not done because calcium silicate and foam glass insulations are far more effective thermal barriers. Other than this, it is a timeless book worthy of a spot on your shelf for reference.
