An excellent film. One of the best from Zhang Yimov. I had the privilege of meeting Mr Yimov when we gave him an award at MAMI. Mumbai International Film Festival.

An absolute waste of time. I read in one review that the director has sought to emulate Anurag Kashyap. That was a hilarious claim. “Mirzapur” is pathetic and very much an amateur production and directorial attempt.
Do not watch, certainly do not download the season.
Not convinced?
Start watching Episode 1. You will invariably stop watching it barely 5 minutes into this high school skit.
Then you will thank me.

A remarkable serial. Very well scripted, directed and cast. After Downton Abbey, Julian Fellowes could not go wrong here, with excellent character design and development. The story arc is beautifully executed. A must watch. Production and costumes are stunning and match excellent performances by Kevin Guthrie, Edward Holcroft and Charlotte Hope. Bravi

The movie is like a bollywood production in that it lurches incoherently through a convoluted plot. The fact that is loosely based on Shakespeare’s “The Lamentable Tradegy Of Titus Andronicus” is no excuse for “The Hungry”’s incoherence.
The only reason I decided to watch this film, was because of Naseeruddin Shah. He is the only saving grace in this sorry film. Naseer is perfection as always. His stage presence, persona and aura is superlative. Bravo.
If only the Director had more mettle.
