Nothing like the original. I found this one had nothing gripping at all. The two caesars where just terrible .The lead charactor was weak compared to Russell crowes performance in the Original. Even the Great Denzel could'nt lift this one up. But the real clincher for me was the Sharks swimmimg in the flooded coliseum. Really! Sharks! Even for a ridley scott movie this was over the top. The only saving grace was i watched it in thailand so the ticket only cost $7 .

Had a few hrs to kill so i decided to Have a nice sitdown . luckily i only paid $4 to watch this movie . Otherwise id have felt a little ripped off. slow & predictable .
