An unbiased review not talking about Cha Eun Woo lol. The good: The graphics are actually not cringe and well done. Visuals were really appealing that I thought they were green screen. I liked the story line and how it tied into the Island. Jeju was the perfect setting for this. It’s suspenseful and action is superb. Supporting roles shine in the series. Main guy doesn’t say much due to his character but face acting is commendable. The progression of the show is slow but fitting because the flashbacks are really nice and informative. The possession scenes are haunting and some scenes did give me a good jump scare. I like how there’s a good balance going around where it’s not just a show of slaying demons (kinda) but actual in depth storyline. The bad: I know they made the girl lead to be selfish and ignorant but she is really unlikable. I get it’s for the character development but she just comes off annoying and only becomes good because she is put in situations where she has to be. There could have been some deep self reflection going on when they almost lost the abused high school girl but she thought of the revenge as “nothing important”. The beginning was also really annoying and she just kept getting chased by monsters and nothing was being explained lol. I could see why some people stop watching and why some people are obsessed. The curiosity keeps me going but it is becoming predictable. I’m only half way so let’s see if things get better .
