Many die hard Jane Austen fans will find this film lacking. The sets, scenery and casting were all done well, as was the acting. I found Dakota Johnson as Anne Elliott to be charming and vulnerable, as well as Cosmo Jarvis who plays Wentworth. The two definitely had chemistry, however the writing is a bit clunky with several scenes either feeling rushed, or out of place. There were also several references to Modern speech such as "self care" and "He's a 10" which felt incongruous to the overall feel of the movie. But even with it's flaws I still found the movie to be enjoyable. There is enough of the original story in it to be savored.
