This is the game that Fallout always wanted to be.
The worlds are teeming with life, threatening creatures, rabid pirates, and a cast of NPCs that are complex, flawed, and generally doing their best to get by.
There are very few "truly good" people in the Halcyon colony, but even fewer who are "truly bad".
Even the most outlandish characters have sympathetic goals, and even with the assurance that it was necessary to save people, every character I killed still sticks in my mind.
The gameplay loop is very satisfying, with your home being always accessible aboard your ship, the Unreliable. The ship is populated over time by people that you befriend or hire, and all of them have sincere depth.
Truly, one of if not the single best narrative experience in any video game I've ever played.
