Black Summer gets off to a good start with a unique setting and different method of storytelling converging arcs. I found the scripting average and acting OK/Good in respective areas. Unfortunately, there are times throughout the season where the show really did fall off for me, scenes that just seem unrealistically dumb or cringeworthy to have to watch.
Sadly I must admit there is some disappointing lack of attention to detail throughout the show. Understandably I might seem picky, but if you watch it yourself you may see my angle on this. I think there are many aspects which could have been improved, even as basics.
As a whole I think it's OK and worth a watch, so it gets a thumbs up from me. Only just, though. I'd like to see a second season of this, perhaps where the budget could be upped to allow for 1 hour episodes instead of the disappointing 20-25 minute ones we were given this time. Give the scenes of each arc more time, some where over before they even began, making it feel rushed at times.
