Disclaimer: I usually go to the movies for entertainment, not for the art.
Without reading any reviews before going, I was expecting some violence, but not to the extreme. This made most Tarantino movies look like Disney movies in comparison. There were only three women in the movie house when it started. Two left after about 30 minutes and my wife stayed with her eyes closed most of the time. It seems like about 80% of the movie was half dressed, muddy guys stabbing each other, yelling, cutting throats and burning children. If that is art, it is not for me. On the positive side, the last scene made me laugh out loud. Not sure that is what the director was going for however.
