Terribly age biased. As a 50 year old going into medical school, I *may* have been that excited BEFORE my first day; as a resident, I'm embarrassed this is how Hollywood prefers to portray those who gave up careers, lives, etc. to get through
1. prereqs (gen chem, biology, organic chem, physics, biochem, genetics)
2. medical school application process which in and of itself is lengthy, torturous, grueling
3. shadowing/clinical volunteering/activism
4. research
5. medical school (2 years full of histo, patho, gross anatomy, biochem, microbio, etc.)
JUST to be called "Doctor" and then get a character created that is nothing like real life?
Sheer miss. Heaton deserved better than this mess.
