I personally think Ben Aflek is an amazing actor, so to see him in such a bad movie playing one of my favorite comic book characters was just straight up painful. Granted I have grown up in the mcu era of marvel I have always loved the comic books. Daredevil is one of my all time favorites, second only to moon knight. In the movie they left so much out, such as his mentor, Stick. Including more about his past would have made so much more sense than just jumping into beating on Fisk's lackies. The fight scenes were over choreographed and didn't even showcase daredevils fighting style. They did use different kinds of martial arts, but none of them were t t ue to the way the character fights. It would have been so much better to see some more animosity in his fighting style. The movie also made a joke out of bullseye. Between the grunts and downgrading his fighting ability and strength they made a straight mockery out of him. Bullseye is an incredibly dangerous villain and a diagnosed sociopath. Elektra was also sold short. She obviously survived but she could have beaten bullseye, it would have been a difficult fight, but they could have at least awarded her a longer fight. Daredevils durability is completely laughable in the scene where Elektra stabs him. He's been shot and fought better than that, at least in the comics. They did every for extra dramatic effect, not to stay true to the characters. There were a couple good moments. I was happy to see a Wilson Fisk with actual super strength. There was also the scene in the subway when daredevil allows the the man to get run over by the train. The pure savagery and disregard to morals really spoke true to tje slightly later renditions of daredevil comics. I would like to be clear though, I had no issue with Ben Affleck's acting, there was nothing wrong with it. The big issue was in the rest of the movie, not the actors.
