It's an okay movie with great cast. An epitome of how is to live in a dysfunctional family.
One question to the Director - why keep the set up of the movie in Coonoor, Ooty (which is a hill station in south of Tamilnadu ) and make entire city speak in Hindi? How is this authentic?. Even when the cast of the movie interacts with Kirana shop owneror vegetable vendor they converse in Hindi and doesn't utter a word in local language. If the Director is too lazy to make the effort could've set it in any hill station in Lonavla or any other place where locals interacting in Hindi wouldnt kill the soul of the movie..Why coonoor?
Imagine we shoot a movie in Himachal and make the entire cast and localities speak Telugu or Malayalam. No matter how great the movie is...there would be this awkwardness throughout.
As I type iam watching a Malayalam movie called Hridhayam, where the hero studies in Chennai and moves back to Kerala. The director has shown everytime the hero interacts with or travels to Chennai, the interaction with localities or his friends would be in Tamil with a heavy Malayalam accent.
There is a certain soul in Hridhayam which was completely missing in Kapoor and sons.
