Let me tell YOU-
My husband and I are GAMERS- when the kids go to bed, mom and dad get to play. We love scary, shooting, puzzle type games i.e Resident Evil, Tormented Souls, Observer, Madison, you name it. We recently played Escape Academy which was an extreme puzzle co-op game (no jump scares) and had such a blast.
We watched the preview for It Takes Two a few times. Debated on playing it, we felt it really looked a bit more child like adventures that we may be able to sink our teeth into (which children certainly can enjoy this VERY MUCH). But OMG we are in LOVE with this game. The story line, the challenges, the team work, we end up laughing so many times are our mistakes or intended teasing i.e he pulled an item out of a wall when I was supposed to connect to it and I fell- or I had to hold open a door for him and shut it in his face.
Even the accidental errors are not frustrating they are great. Each level is so so so unique, very detailed, the puzzles throughout are not a direct- question with a straight solution puzzle. You have to evaluate your surroundings and the tools you are equipped with (which change every chapter). It poses a challenge, but not to the point where we get super frustrated. Some are really difficult some simple, but always FUN. When you finally solve it you high five each other hard (well we did).
There is battles thru out that are amazing. Once again you need to have team work to beat them, and they are some direct and indirect. They are not overloaded, so it is not a constant battle. It is a PERFECT mix.
The chapters are lengthy, but the save points are often so it is wonderful when you die not having to lose the progress you have made so far. We have already played hours, we have fun with it, not always super target focused. The long length of the game is AMAZING and perfect, we NEVER want it to end.
We truly will end up crying when it is over, we have NEVER had this experience before. The icing on the cake- the story line and commentary throughout is wonderful. We watch the clock for 8pm when our kids go to bed, grab our snacks, and hop on to continue our adventure. We reluctantly have to pull ourselves off of this game when it is way past our bedtime.
Truly- take it from xbox, nitendo, occulus gamers, who primarily play more adult themed, intense puzzle games- this one is a MUST!
We want our kids to do this next!
This surpassed and became number one on our top ten list of our 47 games we have beaten so far.
P.S- Creators PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider make a second It Takes Two- We WILL Pre-Order it in a HEARTBEAT.
