Watched this one with my mom and dad when I was 14 y.o. at a Drive-In while on vacation at Madison on the Lake. The songs were amazing, but was a bit too young to appreciate the nuances of the relationship between Etting and Snyder. My Dad and Mom had both seen many of Ruth Etting's movies, and they both agreed that Doris Day was much prettier, and a better singer, but that Cagney did a great job as Snyder. I've since seen the movie several times on television, and think it is a good solid 4 stars out of five (or 3 out of 4).
