My wife and I were watching this, WAITING for some semblance of a plot to emerge. SPOILER: It never does. How in the world did this get 4 stars on Amazon? Had they stuck with and built on the plot of the son and teacher's relationship, it could have been salvaged. Alas, they did not. After 2 hours of trying to figure out what was going to happen...nothing. Do not waste your time on this.

People are blowing the microtransactions stuff way out of proportion. The only things you have to pay for are vanity stuff. You don't have to spend a penny if you don't want to. It's a free to play game, with deep customization. If you don't rush through it, you could play it for months trying to gather the materials to unlock descendants, weapons, and more. People hating just complain to complain.
