We've seen it over and over. Zombie virus ravages a city people try to survive. Black Summer kind of does it differently the zombies in this flick are hearty and brutal, think 28 days later. However, the way the show is set up it should have just been a movie. Eight episodes all 20ish minutes long.
Overall, I'd give the show a 3/5 based on how it's broken up into mini chapters. It kind of kills any real story here, you never get to truly connect with any of the characters. Other than the female lead, you never really hear any back story on the characters or the virus. But, I did enjoy the series overall it seemed a bit more realistic with people being terrified of the zombies. And they actually seemed like a real threat. Definitely a good watch if you love zombie horror, but if you aren't a super fan, maybe watch when u have nothing else.
