I just watched one episode of the show. Despite me being a huge fan of Dax I gotta say the script and the rendition were a bit off. Right, it is light hearted show but still I expected a little bit of smarter responses in dialogs. For example, when Lake makes big hand gestures and tries to get away from a situation or a conversation with her neighbors it actually is not that scandalous of anything. And the sheriff is just tying to pull something sheriff-like in the southern accent that doesn't sound so much it, is just awkward. I don't know what to call the whole conversation when they were stuck on the roof . It overall felt Woody Allen went to farm with a couple next door. Is it up to viewers to find it good or bad? It was not full on funny nor awkward. It felt a little forced.
Having said all these, I still will watch the show through out. Because I think Dax will pull it off no matter what and I love the setting.
