They changed a lot of stuff from the original novel, in the book black beauty is a thoroughbred gelding that was born in captivity, not a wild mustang mare. Also joe was a stable boy that worked at birtwick park…not a common horse girl that lost her parents. it’s also dumb that they don’t even give any more in depth context on the family. The whole first half is basically a flicka remake. The second half is a bit better but still not great.
