I saw a lot of good review so I decided to watch it.. and was mortifyingly disappointed.. :) Tldr, I'm just ranting For starter.. I knew a bit about the gwangju uprising because I watched The Taxi Driver movie and did some google research.. so I came in thinking it might be as good and explored around the topic The beginning until ep 6 was good.. The side character Soo Ryeong and the older brother is so annoying.. you'd think they'd realized the situation they're in and be smarter about their actions.. even the final redemption doesn't feel like a redemption.. it's just a means to save the character.. The main character.. is.. just too dumb.. after the whole, going overseas dreams crash suddenly she have no other ambition..? I thought she's smart..? Enough to get scholarship and acceptance into a good university?? So why does she keep making dumb decisions? Throughout the whole show she's just like a sitting duck Even the villain that was so feared the whole show feels ridiculous.. everybody keeps getting on his bad side when they knew he's that evil, it makes me so angry. And why is nobody trying to fight him back? And tell me why nobody in this show communicate with each other..? Aren't they friends with the rebellion, so why can't a single character tell them, "hey it's not a good idea to go out of gwangju right now, the soldiers are shooting the civilians", in fact, she and the ml works at the hospital for awhile, you'd think they'd be concern enough at least for each other, to not go outside at night and be shot at?? Even the little brother.. what prompts him to even make the decision he made at the end when someone he loves just lost their life a few scenes before because of the same decision..? All these character have no self perseverance.. just the plot pushing them forward and that's all there is to it Maybe that's just me thinking :))) And the ending..? If you look at it closely you'd realize it was a thoughtless move by the writer to remove a character.. because there was so many plot holes.. Sorry, I'm just upset because it started off so good.. and Lee Do Hyun and Go Minsi acted so well that it saved the show at the very least

I watched this because a lot of people said it's good and praised it highly. I'd agree that it is good, it had a lot of touching and funny moments. I'd highly praise the actors and their acting were amazing. It got me hooked by the first two episodes, especially during his childhood, that was so well made. The feelings it brought out and the hardship he had to face. Then making a choice of chasing his dream or protecting his family. The time travelling aspect wasn't bothering me at first, but then. Through episode 3 till 8 it keeps revolving around the same issue, performing as a band, they'd make an agreement, and then 15 mins later in the episode they broke it, and they used this plot over and over through this episode :) (About Se Kyung) Se Kyung threw me off even harder. Is it a plot hole or did I miss something? During the entire episode when Eun Gyeol keeps calling her ahjumma and we see glimpse of her backstory, her parents and how she's adopted. She didn't acknowledge him as much but we know it bothered her. About who his real father is, and her real father who keeps lingering around her. . And then we're introduced to another Se Kyung (the daughter who's pretending to be her mom, I forgot her name) and how did she randomly knows Eun Gyeol, "oh my mom's crush" when we know she doesn't even know him? This coupled with the fact, so whose's backstory did we even see previously? that made her so rebellious? Is it only because her mom is a drunk and keeps telling her about her crush? . Then, what does her, pretending to be the mom will even accomplish? She's not the og mom, whatever the love connection she makes, wouldn't effect the mom's marriage. Her motives feels very lacking? x'D Next point, when Eun Gyeol knows about how his mother had actually lived, being mistreated by her family and abused. He abandoned all his past resolves to save the dad (that we have been basically cemented on for all 9 episodes)...? At this point I actually liked that they turned the plot around to be centered around the mom. AND THEN, 15 minutes later it's back to the band, festival, se kyung, and I don't know anymore. I thought he wanted to help the mom. Makes me confused to root for him or not, because he keeps changing his mind at every second. And can we please just get over the festival, it's happening in one month but it felt like forever and they're never practicing and just keeps flip flopping on the same thing over and over :) (I wrote this while currently on episode 10) I'm frustrated. BUT I WILL CONTINUE WATCHING! Then maybe I will rewrite this review again. But I really love Chung Ah, her eyes speaks so much emotion!
