The movie was pretty good. There was a lot going on but it made a lot of sense if you’ve had similar experiences. It tackled the issue of race in academia from a student and faculty perspective as an employee. It touched on the history of this country with interesting references to era post-slavery. Most importantly, it went into the micro-aggressions and issues of racism always faced in this country. “Everyone had a tough semester,” was the epitome of mineralizing the plight of others and the traumas faced daily. The statement of “not leaving because it’s everywhere” was very true. There is a lot to unpack in this movie and worth some rewinds or a second viewing to go beyond the surface messages.
